New Egypt Speedway - Modified Champions Night - September 14, 2024 - (S4 E18)

Modifieds ended their season points. Ageless Jimmy Horton win the 30 Lap Modified main event for the first time in eleven years! He started mid pack and, picked a car or two at a time. Tom Princiotta was your early leader until, DJ Hunt passed him and lead a handful of laps until Horton grabs the top spot for good. Point contender Justin Grasso came home in second. Ryan Godown came into the event with a 16 point lead over Brandon Grasso and needed to finish sixth or better to secure the 2024 crown. Indeed, Godown garnered enough points by finishing a very respectable third and, successfully defended his 2023 crown. Now he is tied with former rival Billy Pauch, Sr with six. Dominick Buffalino and Jack Butler wrapped up the top five. Mike Toth wins his first 602 Crate Sportsman of 2024. Rookie champ Stephen Puglisi lead the pack until half way when, Toth was stalking him and, took snatched the lead from him. Matt Elery, Steve Davis, Mike Butler and Ryan Simmons completed the top five. Former champion Johnny Carpenter won his first Street Stock main event of 2024. Mick D'Agastino won his fifth NEWS event.
