Walking through quiet neighbourhoods, I encountered construction workers from Central Java who shared their incredible stories about working far from home. One builder showed me his friend's makeshift sleeping arrangement that completely blew me away, living on the back of a motorbike with just a tarp for shelter. I also explored the local market, explained Indonesia's healthcare system and community banking and met an Australian family who moved to Bali. This raw glimpse into real Indonesian life reveals the lengths people go to just to earn a living, far from the polished image visitors usually see.
