In 2013, a piece of exposed brick fell a few centimetres from a woman walking down the street in a Madrid neighbourhood. Firefighters cordoned off the area and the City Council filed a complaint to have the façade restored. This event led to the restoration of the Girasol Building, designed by José Antonio Coderch in 1966. Why did that brick come loose?
