Event: Improving The Measurement of Methane Emissions Using Satellites & other Technologiesto Enable Better Methane Actions Date: 16 November Location: Saudi Arabia's Pavilion, Blue Zone, COP29 This discussion highlighted the importance of comprehensive, transparent, and accurate greenhouse gas (GHG) emission measurements in tracking progress and achieving climate goals. Methane, one of the most challenging GHGs to measure due to discrepancies in emission data across countries, was a central focus of the session. Key insights were shared from a new study conducted in collaboration with #Kayrros, which expanded methane measurement analysis to five Gulf countries. The study leveraged satellite technology to track emissions, providing actionable data and enhancing understanding of regional methane dynamics, particularly within the oil and gas sector. #KAPSARC
