CRETE Guide, Greece 4K - Part 5: Sitia Geopark, Kato Zakros, Ierapetra ► #touchgreece INEX

In the fifth part of our Crete (Κρήτη) guide we visit the Sitia Geopark in the easternmost part of the Greek island of Crete. You will see the most interesting places and beaches such as Vai, Itanos, the Richtis Gorge and Kato Zakros, the monasteries of Toplou and Kapsa, the Minoan palaces, the resorts on the southeast coast, Mylonas Waterfall, Ierapetra, etc. Sitia UNESCO Global Geopark covers almost the entire easternmost part of Crete, covering a total area of 714 square kilometres. Some of the ecosystems here, such as the Vai palm forest, are unique to the Mediterranean region. Rare endemic species of flora and fauna can be found throughout the park. Among the most important finds are the fossils of endemic mammal species: the Deer (Candiacervus cretensis), Hippopotamus creutzburgi, Elephas antiquus, Mammuthus creticus. 4K Ultra HD video includes SUBTITLES.
