Across The Lake - Needles Cable Ferry

The Needles Ferry is a cable-guided vessel that crosses the Lower Arrow Lake in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, offering a quiet and scenic water connection for Highway 6 (also known as the Vernon-Slocan Highway) between the communities of Needles (West) and Fauquier (East). The five minute crossing operates daily on a 30-minute schedule. The current ferry was launched in 1990 and can accommodate up to 40 vehicles and 135 passengers, free of charge.
