Tithonia diversifolia is a herbaceous plant of the Asteracea family, native to Central America (Nash, 1976). It has a wide adaptation range, tolerates acidic conditions, and low soil fertility. It is also a species with good biomass production capacity, rapid growth, and low input and management requirements for its cultivation. It has important nutritional characteristics that make it suitable for consideration as a species with potential for animal feed (Ríos, 1997).
