Norway - The Trail to Preikestolen

Subscribe:    / @wanderbar.   In March 2026, we were on vacation in Norway. I set off alone to the Preikestolen, while my wife stayed on the ship with our son. The trail to Preikestolen is well developed, but should not be underestimated. You’ll encounter rocky sections, stone steps, alternating climbs, and flatter stretches to catch your breath. In March, there may still be snow and ice, making sure-footedness and attention important. At the same time, that’s exactly what makes it so appealing: with every meter you climb, the landscape opens up, the air gets clearer, and the silence more intense. At the top, you’re rewarded with a view that’s hard to describe: the Lysefjord far below, the rugged cliffs, the vastness—and a feeling somewhere between awe and freedom. If you’re thinking about doing this hike: go for it. Take your time, plan well, and enjoy every step. It’s not an easy walk, but absolutely doable—and in the end, an experience that stays with you.
