It turns out you can buy a 500mm telephoto lens with a 2x teleconverter on AliExpress for just $60. And it's not a catadioptric mirror lens, but a regular lens with decent bokeh. Of course, it's hard to expect high-quality optics for that kind of money. In fact, before buying this marvel, I doubted it would even be visible at that price. But in reality, it wasn't all that bad. With a little processing in Lightroom, the photos taken with this lens turn out quite acceptable. However, there are some issues with adapters and the minimum focusing distance.
