Anti-tank rifles, and later guns, mines, dive bombers, shaped-charge munitions, guided missiles, attack helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), were supposed to consign them to the dustbin of history. Meanwhile, the only constant in the evolution of armored weapons remains their constant adaptation to new threats. In the coming years, the Polish Army's main battle tanks, the American M1 Abrams and the South Korean K2 Black Panther, will be equipped with Trophy active vehicle protection systems. How were these devices developed, what are they used for, and how do they work? How will the implementation of ASOP impact the development of armored weapons? In the event of a war, will Polish tanks withstand the onslaught of Russian drones? Will combat vehicles fire lasers straight out of "Star Wars"?
