Eleven Tzu Chi Humanistic Schools in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, simultaneously opened for the new year. Five schools held joint opening ceremonies at three different locations, with children returning to their familiar classrooms with anticipation, accompanied by teachers and parents. Through group activities and etiquette lessons, they ushered in a warm and energetic start to their learning journey. "Catch the ducks, catch the ducks, catch a few, catch five!" In the lively group activities, the children quickly bonded. The Humanistic School is not just a place for classes, but also a joyful place to meet new friends and experience group life. Su Zusheng and Su Zuen, Tzu Chi Humanistic School students from Austin: "It's very interesting and fun. (Zusheng) is very fun, making some friends. (Will you come again next time?) Yes." In addition to diverse activities, the Humanistic School also integrates character education into daily life. From dress etiquette to dining etiquette, children learn respect and self-discipline in every action. Austin Tzu Chi Humanistic School Principal Li Qiufeng: "At the beginning of the course, we wanted to introduce our school's etiquette, dress code, and dining etiquette to parents, hoping to cultivate humanistic character from the outset. The beauty of a group comes from the cooperation of its members." Parent Zheng Weiqun: "Everyone is consistent (in a neat and orderly way). Yes, everyone is consistent, and there's no discrimination, but rather everyone working together for the better. There's no comparison; that kind of mindset is much better." Parental support is the driving force behind the humanistic school's progress. Some couples have even gone further, becoming educational volunteers, extending their involvement from accompanying their own children to accompanying many more children as they grow. Wu Yuyun, Team Leader at Tzu Chi Humanistic School in Skudai: "I initially wanted to become a team leader because I could accompany the children as they grow. In the process of accompanying them, I also grow myself. I learned patience, tolerance, and to treat the little ones with a gentler tone. When I came to the Humanistic School, I treated these little ones as my own children and my teachers. I also learned to love through them." Zhu Congyuan, Head of Faculty at Tzu Chi Humanistic School in Skudai: "My profession isn't teaching, but I still have the opportunity to interact with these teachers. It's a new learning experience for me. The Humanistic School is a very pleasant place for me." Similarly, some teachers have been accompanying children for many years, using Jing Si Aphorisms as a medium to encourage them with kind words. Her own children have grown up in a virtuous environment. Huang Mei-hsiu, volunteer at Tzu Chi Humanistic School, Senai: "(The child) has been with us since Tzu Chi Kindergarten, from first grade to now, and has continued without interruption. We often use Jing Si Aphorisms, like saying, 'Speak kind words, think good thoughts,' a very simple Jing Si Aphorism. Or, 'Dedication is professionalism,' I've been telling him these things since he was little." Li Chun-hsien, Tzu Chi Junior at Tzu Chi Humanistic School, Senai: "I joined in first grade, and now it's been twelve years. I love the atmosphere here, and the children receive attention from their parents. I think it's a very good platform." Watching the children grow from small figures, the principal's eyes were filled with emotion. Li Chiu-feng, Principal of Tzu Chi Humanistic School, Austin: "Because my child also came from a humanistic school, watching the flowers bloom and the trees grow, that feeling is truly moving. I really hope our humanistic school can be run even better, attracting more bodhisattvas to participate and create a virtuous environment for our little bodhisattvas." Whether on campus or in the Jing Si Hall, the opening ceremony has ended, but the learning has just begun.
