Carol Rosenfeld on Uta Hagen's Object Exercise #1: Physical Destination
HB Teacher Carol Rosenfeld discusses Uta Hagen's Physical Destination exercise, as explored in the bestselling acting textbook A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. Hagen was one of the most renowned and respected acting teachers of the 20th century. She was highly sought-after and influential among those she trained at HB Studio. During her time at HB, she authored best-selling acting texts, RESPECT FOR ACTING and A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. Both texts still enjoy worldwide distribution. Her most substantial contributions to theatre pedagogy were a series of Object Exercises, as discussed here, that remain prominent training for acting professionals. Carol Rosenfeld is the Founder of The Uta Hagen Institute and the Program Director for The Uta Hagen Institute Teacher's Labs at HB Studio. She is a former student of Uta Hagen.
