Hoe kunnen zaadcellen uit het lab onvruchtbaarheid bestrijden? 🧫

The University of the Netherlands is coming to CarrĆ©! On October 28, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary with a special performance: What if time stops? Tickets: https://carre.nl/voorstelling/univers... Every cell in your body has a function: from a kidney cell to a brain cell, and of course, the sperm and egg cells. Once a kidney cell or an egg cell, it doesn’t become another type of cell. Until now, because in the lab, scientists can turn a skin cell into a different type of cell, like a sperm cell. Reproductive biologist Callista Mulder (Amsterdam UMC) will explain how this works. Dit lijkt een uitgebreide beschrijving van het programma en het onderzoek dat wordt gepresenteerd door de Universiteit van Nederland. Hier is de vertaling naar het Engels: 00:00 Why turn a skin cell into a sperm cell? 01:13 How is a sperm cell created? 02:45 How to change a cell 05:47 Why we can’t yet turn every cell into a sperm cell 07:31 The future of children for same-sex couples Callista's research is carried out in collaboration with HipGametes, in partnership with researchers from Leiden University Medical Center, Erasmus MC, Amsterdam UMC, Maastricht University, and the Rathenau Institute.
