Seventeen-year-old Stacey Daniels met Michael Wallace, a very kind man. The couple fell in love and married three years later. Their first daughter, Ashley, was born in 1988, and their second, Bree, in 1991. Stacey worked as a hospital operator, and her husband, Michael, was a mechanic at a local auto repair shop. Both parents had a very close relationship with both children, but Michael was closer to his youngest daughter, Bree, than to his sister, Ashley, while Stacy was closer to their first child, Ashley. In 1999, problems began between Stacy and Michael. The couple began to suspect each other of infidelity, and their relationship soured. Stacey was about to file for divorce and had already found a lawyer.
