We Fished a "No Trolling" Walleye Tournament on Lake Erie

Every Spring the Lake Erie Walleye Trail hosts a jig and cast only tournament. Which means no trolling. Of course, with forward facing sonar that seems to be more of the norm these days. This event is also an Open which allows you to fish more than just the standard two person limit. This year we put together an unbelievable cast of characters including ourselves, Charlie Klaus, Kyle Kokovanich and Josh Lewis. Josh graciously volunteered his 238 Warrior to accommodate us all. Needless to say, that despite the typical bumpy lake, we had an absolute ball out there. The day was filled with so many laughs and we even managed to put together a very decent bag of fish as well. We ended finishing 15th overall out of 60 plus boats. Not too bad. And had we landed the big one that got away we may have found ourselves pushing the top 5. But that’s how it always goes, it’s always the big ones that get away. The Summit Fishing Equipment and the HDS rods really performed well for us. It was truly a memorable day and hopefully we set the stage for a new tradition. ‪@SummitFishingOfficial‬ #walleyefishing #crushcity https://www.hdsrods.com
