Ganapathipuram Beach, also known as Lemur Beach, is a popular tourist destination in Kanyakumari, India. The beach is named after the lemurs, small primates native to Madagascar. In 2023, India Today Tourism Survey & Awards named Lemur Beach the Best Beach and Coastal Destination. 2.5 lakhs years ago Ind and Africa was a single continent and Lemuria was a part of it which is thought to have sunk in sea and believed to have connection with KumariKandam which is also thought to have sunk in Indian Ocean near Southern part of India. The beach is a public beach with free admission, a public restroom, and is good for kids. It has shaded areas, local cafes and restaurants, and nearby attractions like the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue. The beach is clean and family-friendly.
