Audi A3 2025 review: Has the updated small car gone far enough to counter the next-gen BMW 1 Series?

The 2025 Audi A3 has arrived as the midlife facelift of the fourth-generation small car from the German premium car brand. It finds itself going tyre to tyre with the recently launched next-generation BMW 1 Series hatchback and 2 Series Gran Coupe sedan, as well as the soon-to-be-discontinued Mercedes-Benz A-Class. So, what's changed with the A3 this time around? Well, it has a redesigned front end, including the headlights and signature Singleframe grille, while the tail-lights and rear bumper have also been tweaked. Inside, a larger touchscreen multimedia system has been introduced alongside a new gear selector. In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Chris Thompson spends a week living with the updated A3's hatch body-style, dubbed Sportback, in it's entry-level 35 TFSI form. It's powered by a 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with mild hybrid assistance. #Audi #A3 #Review -- Timecodes: 00:00 Intro 00:29 Pricing and features 01:56 Design 02:56 Practicality 06:24 Under the bonnet 06:55 Efficiency 07:28 Driving 09:22 Safety 10:20 Ownership 10:42 Verdict -- Read Chris' full review: https://bit.ly/4jz0Fo7 Check out our Audi A3 hub: https://bit.ly/4lxq5o7 Find more Hatchbacks: https://bit.ly/3saOrg1 Visit our Urban Guide: https://bit.ly/4dIOulj -- CarsGuide - Go beyond the test drive Visit our website for News, Reviews, Advice and more: https://www.carsguide.com.au Subscribe to our YouTube channel:    / carsguide   Like our Facebook page:   / carsguide.australia   Follow our TikTok profile:   / carsguide.com.au   Follow our Instagram profile:   / carsguideaus   Follow our X profile: https://www.x.com/CarsGuide Follow our Threads profile: https://www.threads.net/@carsguideaus Follow our LinkedIn page:   / carsguide-com-au
