RETIRED | Santa Clara VTA 2002 Gillig Low Floor 40' #2221 | Route 77

When I recorded this video back in September 2025, 2221 had recently returned to revenue service after a couple of months. As of uploading this video, 2221 has been retired from revenue service for a couple of months now, and currently there is one remaining revenue diesel in service (2224). 2221 was a pretty nice Voith to ride; in fact, I rode that bus on route 66 the day before I recorded the 77 ride, although the 66 ride was rather slow and disappointing. It's crazy to think that the Low Floor diesels have served VTA riders well for about 25 years before retiring, and with new buses rolling out, it's only a matter of time before 2224 gets retired.
