Bharat singh- 7023332304 साहीवाल नस्ल की गाय पाकिस्तान में साहिवाल जिले से उत्पन्न मानी जाती है। आज साहीवाल भारत और पाकिस्तान में सबसे अच्छा डेयरी नस्लों में से एक है। साहीवाल गाय शारीरिक विशेषताएं: गहरा शरीर, ढीली चमड़ी, छोटा सिर व छोटे सींग इसकी प्रमुख विशेषताएं हैं इसका शरीर साधारणत: लंबा और मांसल होता है। इनकी टांगें छोटी होती हैं, स्वभाव कुछ आलसी और इसकी खाल चिकनी होती है। पूंछ पतली और छोटी होती है। यह गाय लाल और गहरे भूरा रंग की होती है कभी-कभी इसके शरीर पर सफेद चमकदार धब्बे भी होते हैं। ढीली चमड़ी होने के कारण इसे लोग लोला भी कहते हैं। नर साहिवाल के पीठ पर बड़ा कूबड़ होता है व इसकी ऊंचाई 136 सेमी और मादा की ऊंचाई 120 सेमी के आसपास होती है। नर गाय का वजन 450 से 500 किलो और मादा गाय का वजन 300-400 किलो तक होता है। साहीवाल गाय का दूध उत्पादन: यह गाय 10 से 16 लीटर तक दूध देने की क्षमता रखती है। अपने एक दुग्धकाल के दौरान ये गायें औसतन 2270 लीटर दूध देती हैं। साथ ही इसके दूध में पर्याप्त वसा होता है। ये विदेशी गायों की तुलना में दूध कम देती हैं, लेकिन इन पर खर्च भी काफी कम होता है। साहीवाल की खूबियों और उसके दूध की गुणवत्ता के चलते वैज्ञानिक इसे सबसे अच्छी देसी दुग्ध उत्पादक गाय मानते हैं। इनकी कम होती संख्या से चिंतित वैज्ञानिक ब्रीडिंग के जरिये देसी गायों की नस्ल सुधार कर उन्हें साहीवाल में बदलने पर जोर दे रहे हैं, जिसके तहत देसी गाय की पांचवीं पीढ़ी पूर्णत: साहीवाल में बदलने में कामयाबी हासिल हुई है। साहीवाल गाय की अन्य विशेषता: इसका शरीर गर्मी, परजीवी और किलनी प्रतिरोधी होता है जिससे इसे पालने में अधिकम मशक्कत नहीं करनी पड़ती है और डेरी किसानों को पालने में बहुत फायदा होता है। इस गाय की अन्य विशेषताएं हैं:- उच्च दूध की पैदावार प्रजनन की आसानी द्य सूखा प्रतिरोधी अच्छा स्वभाव अच्छी देखभाल करने पर ये कहीं भी रह सकती हैं। गर्मी सहने की अच्छी क्षमता और उच्च दुग्ध उत्पादन के कारण इन गायों को एशिया, अफ्रीका और कई कैरेबियाई देशों में भी निर्यात किया गया है। मुख्यत: पंजाब, हरियाणा, उत्तरप्रदेश, दिल्ली, बिहार व मध्यप्रदेश में पाया जाता है। दुग्ध उत्पादन- ग्रामीण स्थितियों में 1350 किलोग्राम व्यावसायिक फार्म की स्थिति में – 2100 किलोग्राम प्रथम प्रजनन की उम्र 32-36 महीने प्रजनन की अवधि में अंतराल -15 महीने। कहां मिलेगी : करनाल, अबोहर, हिसार के क्षेत्र में। The Sahiwal originated in the dry Punjab region which lies along the Indian-Pakistani border. It played a valuable role in the development of the two Australian tropical dairy breeds, the Australian Milking Zebu and the Australian Fresian Sahiwal. Sahiwals. Characteristics Their colour can range from reddish brown through to the more predominant red, with varying amounts of white on the neck, and the underline. In males the colour darkens towards the extremities, such as the head, legs and tail. It is tick-resistant, heat-tolerant and noted for its high resistance to parasites, both internal and external.
