This is something that I remember from playing Commandos when I was younger. You might also remember it from Resident Evil 4 or Escape from Tarkov. It's a system where you can grab items, rotate them around and place them where you want. It adds an extra layer of engagement to your inventory, forcing the player to think about how they position each item.
