Truman (actually, Harry S Truman) ( 05/08/1884 in Lamar, Missouri until 12/26/1972 in Kansas City, Missouri) was an American politician and from 1945 to 1953 President of the United States of America. Truman's presidency was full of international events, such as the end of World War II and his decision to use nuclear weapons against Japan, the founding of the United Nations, the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe, the Truman Doctrine to contain communism, the beginning of the Cold War, the Berlin air bridge, the creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Chinese Civil War and the Korean War.
