Shireoaks to Doncaster St Caths. A trip over the South Yorks. A covid lockdown entertainment film.

Here is a silent film from a few years ago. As requested another piece of freight only track. We are now a week into the second Coronavirus / Covid-19 lockdown so time for another amble. This Drivers Eye journey is from Shireoaks Via Brancliffe, Dinnington and Maltby to St Catherines on the south part of Doncaster. This piece of railway is now a shadow of its former self when Coal was King. We leave Shireoaks and hang a right at Brancliffe East to head over the South Yorks as it is known. The route is single line in parts and used to be token working until the re-signalling from Dinnington to Maltby and v.v. Coal has now ceased and the line has little traffic. The I-port at Doncaster is under construction when this video was recorded and is now a very busy place. This part of North Notts / South Yorkshire is said to have been Robin Hood country in its day.
