Nostradamus Report 2026 Presentation | SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE

On June 9, media analyst Johanna Koljonen presented the Göteborg Film Festival's latest Nostradamus Report "Challenging Projections" at SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE. The report maps the audiovisual landscape as one connected ecosystem and examines how traditional ideas about business models and success are being challenged and redefined. The 2026 report captures an industry navigating overlapping upheavals. Film, television, streaming, and creator media are no longer separate lanes but parts of one connected ecosystem. TV drama contracts, short-form scripted video is surging, and feature film production volumes are increasingly unsustainable. Starting out online now offers viable paths both into our industries and to independent creator careers, and many talents refuse to choose. The logic of the New Content Economy increasingly describes sustainable business models for all forms of IP – popular storytelling and fan creativity both sustain long-term value and demand serious attention. At the centre of this transformation sits one urgent question: whose definitions of value and success shape our art, industry, and aspirations? The presentation at SERIENCAMP was made in cooperation with SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE, Creative Europe Desk NRW and Swedish Institute. The 2026 Nostradamus Report was released at Marché du Film in Cannes on May 18, 2026.
