FAZZ (FAZZ), an abbreviation for "Full Armor ZZ," is not the official name but a nickname given by those involved and pilots, and the model number was assigned for convenience after construction. While its appearance closely resembles the Full Armor ZZ Gundam, as it was merely a machine designed for the sole purpose of testing the performance of the Full Armor state, the add-on armor cannot be removed, and transformation, combination, and the Core Block System are also omitted, making it a fundamentally different mobile suit. Although the exterior is made of Gundarium composite, it is made of a material that is one rank inferior to actual Full Armor, and it is not anti-beam coated. Not only does the Hyper Beam Saber function omit from the back beam cannon, but it also has an inferior number of attitude control verniers (22), making it a compromised design in terms of close-combat capabilities. Furthermore, the head and abdominal High Mega Cannons (and the upper-stage head Vulcan cannon) are merely dummies used for balance testing, and there are many areas in which it falls short of the Full Armor ZZ Gundam. For this reason, although the FAZZ is a Gundam-type, it is better to think of it as a purely heavy firepower support machine, and its overall performance is such that it is not surprising that pilots call it a "papercraft." It's also said that the head and foot sections, which differ in shape from those of the ZZ Gundam, were reused from prototypes that lost in an internal competition. The rollout took place six months before the ZZ Gundam (hence the theory that full armor was planned from the beginning of the ZZ Gundam's development). However, there appear to have been models with different origins, including those built as FAZZs from the start, those using general-purpose frames, and those intended for conversion to the ZZ Gundam.
