We drove six hours through some of the most scenic roads in New Zealand and ended up at one of the most unreal places we’ve ever seen… Lake Tekapo. From roadside picnic lunches and simple camper van life to the famous Church of the Good Shepherd at sunrise, this episode turned into one of our favorite stops of the entire New Zealand adventure. And once the sun went down… the stars completely took over. Lake Tekapo is home to some of the clearest night skies in the world and sits inside the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve — making it one of the best stargazing destinations on Earth.
