Silver City to Porcupine Mountain Visitor Center, Michigan Upper Peninsula, USA

Silver City is a small community situated right on the shores of Lake Superior. Historically rooted in the mining boom of the 19th century, it now serves as the primary "base camp" for travelers heading into the Porcupine Mountains. Located just inside the park entrance, the Porcupine Mountain Visitor Center serves as the educational and navigational hub for the Porcupine Mountains Ontonagon State Park (popularly known as "The Porkies"). This is the primary spot for backcountry permits, trail maps, and high-quality topographical information. The ride from Silver City to the Visitor Center follows M-107, often cited as one of the most scenic drives in the region. The ride is about 3.2 miles, a very flat, fast but beautiful ride.
