How to start a bicycle movement in your city: Claudia Tamez at TEDxBrownsville

Claudia Tamez is an ecologist and graduate student, studying wetland restoration at UT Brownsville. In addition to her academic profile, Claudia has always been an avid bicyclist. In 2010 she co-founded the Brownsville Bike Brigade and has helped grow the biking culture here in the Rio Grande Valley. She discusses the challenges of starting a bike movement. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
