Intervalo QT y QTC

QT measurement is an important part of ECG analysis, especially in patients who have experienced syncope. Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is characterized by a severe disturbance in ventricular repolarization, reflected on the electrocardiogram (ECG) by a prolongation of the QT interval. This predisposes the patient to malignant ventricular arrhythmias such as torsades de pointes, putting the patient at risk of sudden death. QT measurement is modified by heart rate, so the corrected QT must be calculated to determine the QT value without affecting heart rate. One of the formulas used to correct the QT is the Bazett formula.
