Alien Sex Fiend - Ignore The Machine (Edit, UK, 1987)
During the early 1980s Alien Sex Fiend had carved a bloody niche for themselves as the originators of techno-goth, a precursor for contemporary outfits the like of Marilyn Manson, Slipknot et al. ASF fused rockabilly rhythms, Stooges style guitar, gothic horror and synthetic dance beats to create an art form in it's own right. For several years they ruled the outer regions of the whole rock and roll fiasco. The stage shows were legendary ear splitting, headf**king, mutant rage. The combination of imagery and raw sound inspired acclaimed video artist Karen Bentham to work with the band and for several years afterwards they collaborated on some of the most stunning, truly inspired works of video art ever subjected to magnetic tape. This film contains the very best of those collaborations. www.cherryred.co.uk
