No Straight Lines - Episode 7 - Lee Ramsay

Lee Ramsay – From Gas Engineer to Business Partner & Director of Development. Some careers follow a straight path. Lee Ramsay’s didn’t — and that’s exactly what makes his journey so powerful. From growing up in Ipswich with a strong military influence — his father a decorated medic awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II — Lee learned resilience early. After studying Heating & Ventilation at Gloucestershire Technology College (1999–2003) and even earning trials with Southampton and playing for Gloucester City FC , his life took a major turn at 26 when he moved to Wales with his wife Lindsay and their two young children. That move led to a defining opportunity: joining the Dyno Rod franchise under Steve and Andrea Burt. It was here Lee got his first exposure to P&L, leadership, and the reality of running a business. By 2013, he’d earned a Directorship — and a year later, a simple pub conversation sparked the creation of Suremark, now a fast-growing specialist in facilities, waste management, pumping systems, sustainability, and environmental compliance. ♻️ Lee’s story isn’t without hardship. Storm Dennis, the Covid lockdowns, and the eerie silence of the M4 — driving as a key worker while the world stayed home — became moments of reflection, grit, and clarity, shaping the leader he is today. This episode is a deep dive into ambition, self-belief, and the courage it takes to step into senior leadership at a young age. Lee embodies what No Straight Lines is all about.
