How I beat Elite Solo Wave Defense at OPs 46. First thing first, I kept saying "Dru" when I was referring to Dwu23. I'm gonna blame this on me being half asleep when I did the narration, and my brain was defaulting to Greek; there is no dubya in Greek. I'm a terrible person, and I throw myself at the mercy of the court. The whole point of this video is to show how I did ESWD, and that it is doable at 46 as a light casher. If the crewing needs explanation, please let me know. I can do a deep dive into the mechanics, and why I chose the officers I did. There's obviously more than one way to do this, and I know your roster is going to be different than mine. I don't expect anyone at OPs 46 that's truly f2p will beat ESWD until 2026, and that will require getting the GS31. The ship makes up for the raw power you'd need to deal with the 51 Prowlers on wave 2, and at least 1 Reaver on wave 3. The GS31 is available for f2p in 2 months - if you do max daily pulls in the faction store. Finally, the maps that are floating around show 6 Prowlers in wave 3, but there's only 3. Yes, I'm being super pedantic because those Prowlers are displayed as pairs. I prefer the layout of my maps because it shows what type of ship to use, not what the enemies are. It saves some processing time in my tiny brain because I don't need to remember the combat triangle. I just match the ship to where it's supposed to be, on the map and that works better for me. When I think of "whales", it's the people on my server that buy every new ship on day 1, plus at least 1 upgrade pack for it, on top of Battle Passes, new officers and any other nifty thing from the cash store (good FT/CT, and the obviously good Primes). and this is at least $2000 USD/yr, usually 3k+. I've been playing STFC for about 2.5 years now, and I've spent approximately $950 USD incl tax (13% up here in Canadia). While that's hardly "f2p", and I never claimed to be, it's about $1 per day. For the entertainment I get out of it, this is an excellent value *for me*. I also get a lot more latinum from Treasury than f2p players, so I don't think twice about speeding up research for 300 lat/day, and I do not take that for granted, either.
