Grief tech – technology that is used for grieving, memorialising or legacy building purposes – is fast gaining traction in countries like China and the US. But in Singapore, it is still a rather new and unknown concept. In part 2 of the series, we explore how far this new technology can go for four Singaporeans grieving their individual loss. Alison answers over a hundred personal questions to prepare for the creation of an interactive video where she can continue to speak to her 4 children after her death. William consolidates photos, videos and audio recordings for the creation of his late son Raphael’s digital avatar. Chor Meng takes steps to realise his goal of revisiting an old character, Mr Kiasu. And Jacintha fulfils her long-time dream of performing with her late dad again.
