I spent the day drawing Ponyo, baking hojicha / matcha chocolate cookies, and ended the night watching Ponyo on the projector in my room! Also, here’s the matcha cookie recipe from last week! Hojicha / Matcha Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients 350g all-purpose flour 250g melted butter 90g dark brown sugar 50g granulated sugar 2 tbsp vanilla extract 90g milk 35g hojicha powder or matcha powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 chocolate bar, chopped (or any toppings of your choice) Instructions 1. If using an oven, preheat to 160–170°C. (No preheating needed for an air fryer.) 2. Mix the melted butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined. 3. Add the vanilla extract and milk, then mix well. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, hojicha/matcha powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. 5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold until just combined. Do not overmix. 6. Fold in the chopped chocolate or your preferred toppings. 7. Wrap the dough and freeze for at least 1 hour. 8. Let the dough soften slightly, then scoop onto a lined baking tray. 9. Bake at 150°C for 15–18 minutes in an air fryer, or 160–170°C for 15–18 minutes in an oven. 10.
