Oskar Fredriksborg - Den Dolda Fästningen Del I

Oscar Fredriksborg's Fortress was a super-modern defense facility that would defend the waterway entrance to Stockholm. A combination of new materials and construction techniques made this fortress a model for future forts. Now, Sweden's defense facilities would not be visible and deter, but camouflaged in the terrain. In 1877, this modern fortress stood ready to meet the threat from the east. In this first part, we explore the upper defence works, in addition, we go through the history and creation of the fortress including the unique Torpedo battery.
