Just a few minutes after dropping the bait, the float suddenly jerked violently, then sank as if someone had pulled it straight to the bottom. Before I could be surprised, the entire rod in my hand bent into a question mark shape, the fishing line was so taut it looked like it was about to break, emitting a small, creepy screeching sound. My heart was pounding – this was definitely not a small fish. I immediately pressed the rod down, trying to keep my balance. The fish below suddenly darted away like an arrow, pulling me off a stretch of gravelly ground. Rocks and dirt rolled under my feet, almost causing me to lose my balance and fall into the water. My companion stood beside me, panicked, shouting: “Hold on tight! This one is huge!” The fish kept struggling. Every time it flicked its tail, a small wave would erupt from the water in the distance, splashing water everywhere. The line was so tight that I could hear the threatening clacking… clacking… sound. I pulled and released, trying to control it so that the line wouldn’t break or the rod would snap. After a few minutes of struggling that felt like a century, the fish began to lose strength. I took a deep breath, using all my remaining strength to pull it closer to shore. When the giant black shadow emerged from the water, everyone gasped. The fish was so big that my hands were shaking from exhaustion and shock. A final strong swish sent water splashing straight into my face, but this time it couldn’t escape. When I brought it to shore, the whole group was silent for a few seconds, then cheered loudly – ​​both relieved and in disbelief that they had just faced such a “monster”.
