Will My “Cheap” Auction RV Make The 3 Hour Road Trip Home?

I made a terrible financial decision… and then immediately made several more. It all started when I found what appeared to be a “cheap” RV at an auction. As we all know, nothing bad has ever happened after the words “cheap” and “auction” are used in the same sentence. Armed with almost no information, very little self-control, and a budget that apparently meant absolutely nothing, I managed to bid this thing up to about $3,000 more than I had planned. Naturally, the next logical step was to drive my 1930 Dodge over three hours with my cameraman David to go pick it up. Because if you’re going to make questionable life choices, you might as well document them for YouTube. Once we got there, we discovered that this wasn’t just an RV… it was a rolling engineering experiment. Somewhere along the line, somebody customized nearly every system on it. So while road-tripping it home over the Cascade Mountains, I got to enjoy the exciting game of “What Does This Switch Do?” while towing my very irreplaceable 1930 Dodge behind us. Nothing adds confidence to a mountain road trip quite like learning how your newly purchased auction RV works while actively driving it. Will it make it home? Will the Dodge make it home? Will I accidentally deploy something that was never meant to be deployed at highway speed? There’s only one way to find out.
