It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at The Rocket Wetherspoons in Putney, one of London’s most scenic pubs — right on the banks of the River Thames. I dropped in for the full festive lunch: roasted turkey breast with all the trimmings, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, seasonal veg, cranberry sauce, and gravy — all served with a front-row view of the river. The Rocket sits inside Putney Wharf Tower, overlooking the Oxford–Cambridge Boat Race starting line.
