Structural Engineering Sketches - Beginner to Pro

In this video, I am going to show you my structural engineering sketches from when I was a beginner graduate to a professional engineer. Sketching and drawing can be quite intimidating at the start if you're not expecting it. But as you learn to develop the skills and practice them, you'll soon find yourself sketching a lot better. I show how bad my initial sketches were as a young engineer and it took years of learning off different people, observing different styles of drawing to hone my own skills. I am by no means a pro at drawing but I've definitely improved a lot over the years. Being good at drawing and sketching isn't just to make your drawings pretty. Having a good understanding of drawings is going to make you a more accomplished engineer as you'll be working with technicians or draughtsman all the time to develop drawings. Having a solid understanding of what goes on a drawing or detail is going to be critical to the success of your projects as ultimately, what gets built is what is shown on drawings.
