Jacques Piccard - Deep Dive Movie © Rolex
Jacques Piccard (28 July 1922 – 1 November 2008) was a Swiss oceanographer and engineer, known for having developed underwater vehicles for studying ocean currents. He was part of the first people to explore the deepest part of the world's ocean. Bertrand Piccard tackles challenges that others consider impossible. He completed the first ever non-stop round-the-world flight in a balloon, and is the initiator, chairman and Pilot of the “Solar Impulse” project: a solar airplane which is going to travel around the world in 2015 without a single drop of fuel. Psychiatrist, he draws from his hypnosis training and his interest in Eastern philosophies a different look that puts the human being and their quality of life in the foreground.
