1978 Ludwig Drumset Part 2: Supraphonic Snare Restoration!

While waiting on other parts for the kit to arrive, I thought it was a great time to get the first of two snare drums cleaned up and ready to go. This one is an LM400 Ludwig Supraphonic, which is a 5x14 chrome-over-aluminum snare. It's an absolutely phenomenal sounding drum but after wearing these same heads for literally decades, it was very tired and in desperate need of a clean up and refresh. With some new snare wires, snare cord, fresh heads and a very thorough cleaning/polishing, the difference in sound (and appearance!) is genuinely stunning.
