When trolls attacked her daughter with disabilities, this mom fought back
Natalie Weaver’s daughter Sophia was born with severe facial deformities and disabilities. She requites round-the-clock care and cannot walk or speak. Natalie knows how amazing her daughter is, but when she would take #SweetSophia out or post photos online, other people would stare or post cruel comments. For a while, the hate became too much to bear, and Natalie became private about her family. She dreaded people’s reactions while doing even the simplest of errands. But love for her daughter trumped fear, and eventually Natalie found her voice. She stepped out into the public eye to become a fierce advocate for children like Sophia, fighting for her daughter’s well-being and dignity. “When you see true beauty and you realize there’s value in every single human being, no matter what their ability is, it can change the world. I really do believe unconditional love can change the world,” she said. Editor's note: It is with a heavy heart that we share news of the passing of Sophia Weaver. She left the earth on 5/23/19 as she spent each day: "surrounded by love and adoration," her mother said. -------------------------------------- The Best Stories About the Best of Us.
