MOGAD or Something Else? How to Tell the Difference
In this activity, experts in neurology discuss the successful diagnosis of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease (MOGAD). For the complete activity, including supporting material, please visit: www.peervoice.com/KSD861. Presented by: Silvia Messina, MD, DPhil, and Michael Levy, MD, PhD. Learning Objectives: Explain the impact that myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) can have on patients’ daily lives that underpins the need for proactive management; Describe the core clinical features of MOGAD that can help in differentiating it from other neuroinflammatory disorders; Evaluate in which patients myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein immunoglobulin G (MOG-IgG) serum testing should be performed, and the findings that would be confirmatory of a positive diagnosis; Use clinical, laboratory and radiological findings to identify MOGAD in patients with core clinical symptoms of MOGAD but who have an inconclusive, low or negative MOG-IgG test.
