Bubble Down Car Wash: Tampa Site (Outside Perspective)

At one point in time, this high volume express car wash was an empty piece of property until last year when the property was purchased, and later converted into Bubble Down Car Wash. Anyways, This is their first location, which opened just last month. The owner of this car wash currently owns 2 other car washes in Florida, however this is the first Bubble Down location and he plans to expand to other cities. The day I visited, the new logo was installed on the side of the building, and the new pay station canopies were going to be installed. Now considered the longest car wash in the state of Florida, this tunnel features a Sonny’s 160-EDT Hybrid Tunnel system with an extended conveyor that’s actually 167’ long. The equipment includes a SFM901 Double-Jog Spyder Wrap Combo, SF50 Grill Washers, OMNI 350 Arch, DCW Top Brush, SFM807 Mitter Combo, 195 HP Drying System, and a Buff-N-Dry & Tire Seal Combo. Note that the equipment in the tunnel is all hydraulic driven except for the buff-n-dry and top brush. The top brush was retracted due to an electrical issue. High pressure rinsing happens via the mid-tunnel OMNI 350 arch, which is activated on all wash packages. Triple foam wax is applied after the high pressure rinse but is only available of the top package, and is mounted on a separate arch as opposed to being mounted on the top brush. Some other components that are only activated on the top package include the Buff ‘N Shine and the “Bee’s Knees Hot Wax” which is applied before the last mitter. Vehicles are manually prepped before enter the wash if they choose not to prep themselves. All the chemicals at Bubble Down are from an Orlando based company. However, I can’t provide the name. The wash we purchased in the video is the “Best Wash” which costed $18. The wash quality was excellent, however water spots ended up forming on both the drive/passenger windows, and even the rear window. Also, the buff-n-dry delivered somewhat poor coverage which didn’t wipe away the water spots on the windows that ended up forming after. Other than that, this is a really great car wash, with very friendly staff and management and well maintained equipment. I definitely recommend this place to anyone living in the Tampa area.
