Many European states have begun preparing: by surveying bunkers, as in Germany, or updating brochures for civilians in the event of war, as in Scandinavian countries. How are we doing in Italy? FarWest is searching for possible shelters in our country. Historic bunkers, like the one on Mount Soratte, are little more than museums. Those that are actually available and operational seem to be guaranteed only to the highest levels of government. And what about civilians? Few can afford the cost of a private bunker, few homes already have one, and little information about potential shelters.
