Matsyendranath who is considered the incarnation of lord Vishnu started the Nath parampara. Gorakshnath (the result from the holy ash given to a woman, by Matsyendranath )came out of the compost pit as a twelve-year-old. He was trained under Matsyendranath and later sent to do tapas in the Himalayas. With him the Nath parampara went ahead. Nath yogis are supposed to live only where their gurus live or they are supposed to be roaming around without having their own dwellings says Om Swami.
