We drove from Île d'Oléron to the ferry and then from Royan to Soulac-sur-Mer for 60 euros. An expensive treat for a 20-minute boat ride. Then we arrived at the idyllic campsite, Soulac Plage. The sunsets are truly unbeatable. Unfortunately, our little dog needed to see the vet, so we went to the clinic, but thankfully, it was a bacterial infection, probably from digging in the sand, and it's easily treated with medication. Afterwards, we continued on to the bunkers in Le Gurp and Montalivet. We strolled around the small town for a while and then drove to Hourtain Plage in truly awful weather.
