Bulerias: A style said to have been created in the 19th century by a singer named El Loco Mateo in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The Bulerias rhythm developed from singing the final part of a Solea song at a faster tempo. There are several theories about its etymology. It is usually played at a very fast tempo, making it easy to showcase exceptional technique in a short amount of time. Therefore, it is customary for dancers to perform a short Bulerias dance one by one at the end of a flamenco show, like a curtain call, to mark the ending.
