American Marine Biologist Shot Dead in His Home — Six Suspects Identified | Philippines, 2026
American marine biologist Dr. Kent Edward Carpenter was shot dead inside his rented home in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Philippines, on July 12, 2026. Carpenter had spent nearly 50 years studying and protecting Philippine marine ecosystems. He was also a key scientific expert in the South China Sea arbitration that helped the Philippines secure a landmark ruling in 2016. According to investigators, the attack began as a planned robbery. Several of the suspects had previously worked at Carpenter’s property and allegedly used their knowledge of the home, its security, and the residents’ routines to carry out the crime. Within days, police arrested or identified six suspects. One man was accused of firing the fatal shots, while others allegedly acted as accomplices, lookouts, or provided assistance during the escape. Authorities later declared the case solved and said the killing was unrelated to Carpenter’s scientific work or environmental advocacy. #KentCarpenter #PhilippinesTrueCrime #MarineBiologist #SibulanMurder #truecrimedocumentary This video contains archival images and documents compiled from multiple verified sources, used strictly for educational and historical context.
