Corn-On-Corn Stress: Observations and Yield Impact
In this video, Pioneer Field Agronomist Jeff Lafrenz provides observations from a southeast Iowa corn field. This particular field, planted with both corn-on-corn and corn-on-soybean, is experiencing a spread in yield. In the video, the corn-on-soybean section of the field has plants that are still intact with some green still on top, which is what growers want to see this time of year. The corn-on-corn section is browner and some plants are missing the tops as well as lacking the late-season plant health.
