BULAPESA CRACKDOWN: 125 LITRES OF MUNA, 120 LITRES OF CHANG'AA SEIZED IN MAJOR RAID

The Isiolo County security department has seized hundreds of litres of illicit alcohol in Bulapesa Ward during an operation targeting the illegal brewing and sale of the drinks, which have been manufactured in hidden locations. Speaking to the media, Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) James Macharia said officers confiscated 125 litres of muna, 300 litres of mugusa (used in brewing), 120 litres of chang'aa, 56 pieces of brewing equipment, as well as several cooking stoves used in the illegal alcohol production process. During the press briefing, Macharia urged residents to provide information about individuals involved in the illicit alcohol trade. He also warned that Westgate Market in Isiolo Town could be closed if members of the public fail to cooperate by reporting those engaged in the illegal alcohol and drug trade, claiming that many suspects use the market as a hiding place.
